Portrait Sculptures in
Plasticine
Please browse through my
gallery of works in plasticine. Plasticine is my modelling material
which is applied over a supporting armature.
It is
not a permanent medium as a finished sculpture as in the case of bronze or
plaster.
Plasticine is a modelling
material much like clay but does not dry out, staying malleable and
is used repeatedly.
A silicone rubber mold supported
by a reinforced plaster mold is applied to the plasticine work,
creating a negative mother mold. From the negative mold, a positive duplicate
of the original plasticine sculpture is created in wax as in the case of
casting to bronze, or a positive duplicate in plaster in the case of casting to
plaster.
