ARTIST
STATEMENT: From my experience, I feel strongly that
memorialization - to have any meaning or purpose - must be individual and I
have created designs to represent and celebrate a life lived. I will create
memorial portraits with that in mind either from life or from
photographs.
It is strongly recommended, in order for a portrait
sculptor to capture a true likeness, that the sculpture be created from LIFE
but if that is not a possibility, I will create a likeness using photographs.

I feel that a
cremation urn should reflect the time and place of its creation as well as
the personalities it commemorates. In this day of mass production, I think
people will relate once more with the art of today and seek out individually
designed and handcrafted sculpture.
It is my hope that every
sculpture becomes more than just an urn - that it becomes a summary of
individual lives, beliefs, aspirations and achievement. I hope these creations
become a source of contemplation not only of the past but the present and the
future.
HOLTKAMP FINE ART BRONZE:
HOLTKAMP Fine Art Bronze was established in 1995
to create personalized cremation urns that represent and celebrate a life
lived. This led to the ultimate personalization, a memorial
portrait urn created in the
likeness of a loved one. This still is the main focus of HOLTKAMP Fine Art Bronze.
HOLTKAMP Fine Art Bronze also creates
commissioned sculptures for government as well as
for the corporate and public sectors.
Classes
are held in modelling both the portrait and the figure, in mold
making and in casting and HOLTKAMP Fine Art Bronze also
performs demonstrations and holds workshops.
